               Traditionally,  Ramayana  is considered older. But here's why some argue  Mahabharata  might be earlier: Panini's grammar mentions Mahabharata characters  like Arjuna and Yudhisthira, but not Ramayana characters. Mahabharata uses an older storytelling style  with phrases like "Arjuna said." Ramayana doesn't have this. Ramayana seems more polished and developed  compared to Mahabharata.
